Anna Craycroft

Anna Craycroft’s work addresses the transformative potential that cultural institutions represent to their social body. Craycroft’s multi-part research-based installations are grounded in craft traditions and technological innovations. Each of her exhibitions incorporates accessible ways for the audience to experience the work; including purpose-designed furniture, didactic diagrams, research libraries, and public programming.

Craycroft's solo exhibitions have been held at The New Museum in NYC, Portland Institute for Contemporary Art in Portland Oregon, The Ben Maltz Gallery at OTIS in Los Angeles, The Blanton Museum of Art in Austin Texas, Tracy Williams Ltd in NYC. Two-person exhibitions include Redcat Gallery in Los Angeles, the Fundacio Miro in Barcelona, and Sandroni Rey in Los Angeles. Some notable group exhibitions are The Artist’s Museum at the ICA Boston, Champs Elysees at Palais de Tokyo Paris, France, and PS1’s Greater New York 2005. Craycroft has also received commissions for public sculpture from deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, MA, Art in General NYC, Socrates Sculpture Park NYC, Lower Manhattan Cultural Center NYC, and from Den Haag Sculptuur, the Hague Netherlands. Craycroft is currently working on a theatrical production commissioned by EMPAC at Rensselaer Polytechnic that will premiere in 2022.
